Hey, I’m Maya.

I’m a Psychodynamic Therapist offering sessions online and in North London.

My Approach:

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy can help you explore how your past experiences and unconscious mind shape your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

By uncovering these connections, you can develop a deeper self-awareness, work to understand your inner conflicts and how these impact who you are today.

Working together

As your therapist, I will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your inner world.

I offer a relational approach, meaning I put you and our therapeutic relationship at the centre of the work.

You can bring whatever you need to the space, and we can explore how you relate to others and yourself in a safe and boundaried environment.

About Me:

I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and therapist working within community spaces and in private practice. I trained at the Manor House Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have an extensive background supporting adults with diverse backgrounds, diagnoses, and life experiences, within NHS teams and independent mental health charities.

I have held strategic roles in developing mental health services, using recovery-based models for community settings and secondary care services. This includes contributions to award-nominated programmes.

My approach emphasises seeing the whole person beyond diagnoses, fostering growth, empowerment, and meaningful connections to oneself within the therapeutic process.

Training and Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) Psychology with Cognitive Science

  • Certificate in Counselling Skills

  • Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling & Therapy in the Community

  • Registered member of the BACP

How I can support you:

Whether you're exploring therapy for the first time or facing challenges that make support feel especially important right now, this is a space where you can openly explore your thoughts and emotions.

My approach is tailored to your needs, guiding you toward a deeper sense of self-understanding. With experience supporting a wide range of concerns—including anxiety, depression, and stress—I offer compassionate and thoughtful care.

I also help individuals navigate life transitions, process grief and loss, and explore the lasting impact of past experiences, providing a supportive space for growth and healing.

FAQ’s

  • Schedule a brief chat with me to discuss how I work and what you are looking for.

If it feels right for us to move forward, we will agree on a time and date for an initial consultation where we will discuss in greater detail your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to gain from the experience.

If we agree to work together, we will decide on a regular day and time that suits us both.

  • We can explore together what feels right for you and what you are looking for from therapy in the initial consultation.

I offer both long term, ongoing therapy, as well as short term work. With both options, sessions are held the same time and day each week, and are 50 minutes long.

You will also be informed of holiday breaks, and my policies around missed sessions in the initial consultation.

  • Choosing to enter into therapy is an important and symbolic step.

It is hard to know whether therapy is right for you without giving it a go, and some anxiety at the prospect of starting is completely normal and to be expected as part of the journey.

I offer a brief call free of charge to discuss what you are looking for, and whether we are right for each other.

  • I send an invoice at the beginning of each month for payments in the previous month. Most clients choose to pay via bank transfer.

This, along with other financial details, will be confirmed in the initial consultation.
